NEW SERIES: The Right Swipe

We're excited to introduce our new series for February, "The Right Swipe: Building Relationships on a Biblical Foundation." This series is specially designed for our middle and high school students, focusing on the crucial topic of cultivating healthy relationships. We believe that there is a great need for students to understand these Biblical principals long before they start making decisions that include life long commitments to other people. Each week, we will talk through an aspect of relationships from a Biblical perspective and in an age appropriate manner. As always, if parents have question they can contact us prior to the series beginning, they can attend a Wednesday night as our guest and worship with us, or tune in on our weekly stream LIVE on YouTube (CLICK HERE for our Youtube Channel) Here's a quick rundown of what to expect in the coming weeks.

Our February Lineup:

• Week 1 (Feb 7) - "Laying the Foundation: Focus On You Before Who" - This week, we delve into the importance of understanding ourselves and who we are in Christ before we even begin forming deep connections with others. We are going to emphasize the need to be aligned with who God calls us to be. This alignment forms the bedrock of any healthy relationship, be it with family, friends, or future spouses. Most of this week will be about finding our identity and worth in Christ.

• Week 2 (Feb 14) - "The Heart of the Matter: Setting Boundaries for Healthy Connections" - On Valentine's Day, we explore what the Bible says about healthy relationships and how to apply these principles as boundaries in our own lives. We'll discuss the role of accountability with parents, authority figures, and peers. A significant focus will be on the benefits of being in a small group that nurtures and supports these values. Parents have more influence in this area than most think. This would be an excellent week to join us on the YouTube stream and have a discussion after group or in the few days that follow.

• Week 3 (Feb 21) - "The Blueprint for Purity: Honoring God With Your Body" - In our final week, we address the topic of physical purity in a manner that's appropriate for our audience's age group. We acknowledge the clear guidance from God regarding the care and use of our bodies, emphasizing that our bodies are a gift to be honored and cherished. Our students are influenced on a daily basis on how they can and should use their bodies. We are reminded this week, that God has purchased these bodies by giving his own. We, in response, are to honor him in how we use our body!

  • We understand that these topics are essential and sometimes sensitive, so we encourage parents who have questions about the content or need guidance on discussing these issues with their children to reach out to us. We are here to support both you and your students.

• Special Event (Feb 28) - Night of Worship and "Episode" Winter Retreat Recap - To cap off the month, we invite everyone to join us on February 28th for a special night of worship. This will be an opportunity to reflect on our Winter Retreat, "Episode," and celebrate the insights and growth experienced during this series. It's a perfect chance for students to share their learnings and for parents to witness the impact of these teachings.
